It starts with Adam—aka—It's arts with Adam is a blog that draws on pop culture and everyday life to deep-dive into art. It's a blog for anyone into art theory, criticism and history.

Each post indulges in a heavy dose of art nerdery, but in an accessible way, drawing on common examples from the pop-cultural zeitgeist to illustrate points and demonstrate theories. 

We use examples everyone can relate to, drawing from the most interesting movies, tv shows, documentaries, music videos, song lyrics, album covers, books (fiction and non-fiction), poems and many more. 

With entry points such as these familiar friends and stalwarts of pop culture, even the trickiest artistic and critical concepts become clear, accessible and even more intriguing.

About Adam

I'm a dedicated teacher, currently lecturing at Sydney College of the Arts, Australia. 

I have exhibited extensively in Europe, across Australia and in Asia in various media, from painting to video and installation. 

As a writer, I have authored numerous critical articles and essays and published some 20 books.
